Half-Fare Program - 50% Discount on Fares

Eligibility

The following persons are eligible for the PanTran Half-Fare Card upon successful completion of the PanTran application process:

1. Senior citizens 60 and over;
2. persons of any age who are holders of a Medicare Card; and
3. persons who can demonstrate that a disability prevents them from effectively using existing PanTran services and facilities.

Holders of the PanTran Half-Fare Card will receive a 50% discount on cash fare transactions system wide on all PanTran routes during all regular operating hours. The holder must present the PanTran Half-Fare Card (which will be a photo ID card) to the bus driver to receive the discount.

Application Must Be Completed in Person

An Application for the PanTran Half Fare card may be accessed and printed from the PanTran website. However, the application must be completed in person. The Eastern Panhandle Transit Authority (PanTran) office is located at 446 Novak Drive, Martinsburg, WV. Telephone 263-0876.

Verification of Identity and Taking of Photo

• All applicants must present a photo I.D. to verify identity.
  
  
• All applicants must permit PanTran to take a photograph to be used on the PanTran Half-Fare card.

Other Verifications Required

Seniors 60 and over must also present age verification (if not on photo I.D. used to verify identity) and may choose to use a Medicare Card for that purpose. Other options for age verification include a Driver’s License or a certified copy of the birth certificate.
